You put that first one in just to make me jealous, didn't you?

I forgot that I saw Merzbow. (How one could forget this, I'm not sure.) You will be pleased to know that when I saw him -- at an auditorium on the UT campus -- he blew up a PA speaker within the first five minutes and we had to sit around and wait for half an hour for the show to resume with a new speaker. You'd think they would have anticipated this possibility and had a spare on hand....

Well, you did help me remember the Pain Teens show. A friend and I set up a show for them with Zeni Geva here back in 1992 or so. The opening band was a young noise-punk group called Neurosis. ;-)

It's really hard to cut the list down to just 25, but I realized that pretty much every show I've played included a couple of other bands, so it adds up way too quickly. Had to leave off Major Stars, Ghost, Incapacitants, LSD-March, God Bullies, Non, Amber Asylum, Test Dept, Big City Orchestra, Haters, Illusion of Safety, Emil Beaulieu, Caroliner Rainbow, Tragic Mulatto, Crawl Unit, Savage Republic, and so much more. I left off Crash Worship since Loren mentioned them in her post and, well, it's sort of taken for granted I expect.

I've seen so many shows that I can't even remember them all anymore. It doesn't help that when I was running Monotremata and used to go see all the Southern Gun Culture shows, they used to play all the time on triple bills... and then there's all the multiple-band shows featuring people I know from Austin's noise / avant community, which is probably another hundred or more bands right there.
